I've been eating a lot of Kitchari, which is a Southern Asian comfort food staple. It's a very healing meal, and is recommended by the Ayurvedic Institute. It's long grain rice, I use Basmati, split mung beans and spices simmered down into a delicious and healing stew. I couldn't find split mung beans anywhere, so I've been using split red lentils. I've been eating it almost everyday for breakfast, and it really makes me feel great. Here I've drizzled it with my new obsession, green dragon sauce from Trader Joe's. This stuff is AMAZING!

I've never heard of this either. I bought some mung beans the other day when I was at the Asian grocery and was going to try and sprout them. Now I have another use for them too! Thanks for the post!

I'm heading over to my favorite Korean grocery store today to see if I can find some.

No problem, it's been one of my favorite meals since discovering it! And it's a complete protein!!

I've never heard of Kitchari, but I love Southern Asian food so I'm gonna find myself some. Thanks for putting me on to this!
